Hi Marg,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

To improve soils apply:
- 5-10cm thick of compost
- Sprinkle 'Yates Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser' as a complete, soil-conditioning  fertiliser. Click here for more info on this product: https://www.yates.com.au/product/garden-fertilisers/certified-organics/yates-dynamic-lifter-soil-improver-plant-fertiliser
- Dig both into the soil
- Apply a wetting agent if the soil is not absorbing the water
- Top off with a 5-8cm layer of mulch

- repeat at least once or twice a year

Tibouchina prefers slightly acidic soil with a pH ranging from 5.5-6.5. We recommend testing the current soil pH prior to planting. To help lower your soil pH (making it more acidic), try 'Yates Soil Acidifier Liquid Sulfur'. It helps creates ideal growing conditions for acid-loving plants.  It's an easy-to-use liquid formulation, it can be diluted and applied without the dust and the mess associated with traditional granular products. Hope this helps and happy gardening :)
