Having provided Australian children with education resources and support over the last 40years. Life Education Australia and Healthy Harold are working with us to encourage and inspire children and young people to get their hands dirty in the garden.

Not limited to the benefits of healthy eating, gardening helps promote increased physical activity, and an awareness of how plants grow and where food comes from.

This partnership will support the delivery of our school based program across Australia, assisting Life Education to promote healthy and safe lifestyles for over 710,000 Australian students each year.

Paddy Bryans, Yates® Marketing Director says that, “Yates® is passionate about encouraging the next generation of gardeners, so we’re very excited about the new partnership with Life Education Australia. Alongside Healthy Harold, we’ll be playing a pro-active role in stimulating children to get out in the garden to grow and learn!”

With the support of Life Education Australia, we will be sharing child-friendly gardening projects that can be enjoyed either at school or at home.  The partnership will also include a new joint grants program funded by Yates®, Growing Good Gardens, where schools and community groups can apply for a number of $1,000 grants to help create a garden space where kids can learn healthy habits and improve their physical and mental well-being. The Growing Good Gardens Grants initiative will run again this year. Visit lifeeducation.org.au/gardengrants for more information.

Growing Good Gardens Grant Winners: 2019

We have had a phenomenal 981 entries nationally and representing a diverse group of schools and community groups. Yates® and Life Education Australia are proud to announce the lucky winners of the 2019 Growing Good Gardens Grants program!

Picking the final winners was not an easy task as we were super impressed with the quality of all the entries. Whether it was a kitchen garden, garden  to plate garden, or a grazing garden that focused on healthy ‘fast’ food in a sustainable way. Each of the winners will each receive $1,000 to help transform their garden dream into a reality.

The grants will help inspire the next generation of budding gardeners by encouraging them to get outside, get their hands dirty and make healthier choices. We look forward to seeing the amazing progress with these gardens later in the year.
