GroPlus Termite Resistant Mulch

Yates GroPlus Termite Resistant Mulch is made from waste material that’s collected as part of the milling process of Australian native cypress (Callitris spp.), a widely-used construction timber that’s renowned for its ability to withstand termite attack. This waste material used to be burnt after the timber had been extracted, so it’s good to know that it’s now being recycled to fulfil such an important role in the garden.

After milling, the waste material is broken up and lightly composted before being packed into convenient 30L bags. When spread onto garden beds, the resulting mulch forms an attractive, long-lasting layer that reduces water loss, helps prevent weed growth, regulates soil temperature fluctuations and, eventually, breaks down to improve the soil structure.

Because of the woody nature and relatively high carbon content of the mulch, regular additions of nitrogen-rich plant food (such as Dynamic Lifter pellets) are recommended to compensate for any loss of soil nutrients that may accompany the breakdown process.

Yates GroPlus Termite Resistant Mulch looks good, doesn’t carry weed seeds, won’t blow away in the wind and, most importantly, reduces water loss from the soil and root area.

Always apply mulch onto moist soil, and avoid direct contact with garden plants.
