Is it possible to grow daffodils/bluebells/poppies in the same pot. Extreme novice gardener (Tasmania).

I would like to create the seasonal flowers I remember from England. Given limited space available I wondered if in a large tub (perhaps 1/2 wine barrel) I could grow these collectively as they do flower at slightly different times.
Thanks

Answer: Hi Karen,
Daffodils/bluebells/poppies can all be grown in a large pot such as a wine barrel. You may like to consider adding a perennial plant as once the foliage dies back the pot will not look ‘pretty’. The bulb foliage needs to remain on the plant so the nutrients are taken back into the bulb for the following year. Use a good quality potting mix when planting the bulbs and ensure there are holes drilled in the base of the wine barrel.
