Yates Rose Shield Insect & Disease Spray
Yates Rose Shield controls a range of both insect and disease problems in roses and other ornamentals such as shrubs, flowering annuals and perennials. The fungicide in Rose Shield, myclobutanil, provides effective control of rust, powdery mildew and black spot from inside the plant. Myclobutanil is systemic in action. Rose Shield also contains a low toxic insecticide, tau-fluvalinate. Tau-fluvalinate is better known as Mavrik®. This low toxic synthetic pyrethroid controls common insects such as aphids, caterpillars, thrips and whitefly, and also suppresses the notoriously difficult to control two-spotted mite.
Features
- Yates Rose Shield is a combined insecticide and fungicide that provides control of the most common pest and disease problems in roses and other ornamentals
- The fungicide in Rose Shield, 4.4g/L myclobutanil, is systemic in action, and is able to get right inside the plant where it fights diseases such as rust, powdery mildew and that notorious enemy of healthy roses, black spot. All of these diseases spoil the appearance of plant leaves (and, in the case of powdery mildew, the flower buds as well) and can severely weaken the plant. To maintain roses and other ornamentals in the best of health, it’s important to keep these problems under control
- Rose Shield also contains a low toxicity insecticide, 9.6g/L tau-fluvalinate. This synthetic pyrethroid controls common insects such as aphids, caterpillars, thrips and whitefly, and also suppresses two-spotted mite populations
- As a concentrate formulation, Rose Shield will provide 100L of spray solution and is a convenient and economic pack size for those looking to treat a larger growing area such as production nurseries, landscape contractors, councils etc.
How It Works
The fungicide in Rose Shield, myclobutanil, is systemic in action. This means the active ingredient passes through the plant tissues and fights the target diseases from inside the plant. Tau-fluvalinate is a low toxicity insecticide that controls or suppresses the pests when foliage is ingested.
Directions for use
Foliar spray application – 10ml per litre of water. Thorough coverage of foliage, including under surfaces, is essential. Commence spraying when new shoots sprout in spring at first sign of insects or disease and repeat at 14 day intervals if required. Two spotted mites might require more frequent applications. Do not mix with other insecticides or fungicides before spraying. Do not apply if rain is expected within 2 hours.
Precautions
Rose Shield is a Schedule 5 chemical. The pack is clearly marked CAUTION and it must be kept out of reach of children. Read safety directions before opening or using.
Additional Information
The 1L pack makes up to 100L of spray solution. Yates Rose Shield is a Group C fungicide.
