Blitzem Snail & Slug Pellets

Blitzem Snail & Slug Pellets provide environmentally sound snail and slug control in a variety of agricultural and horticultural applications. Blitzem utilises the active ingredient Metaldehyde, which is incorporated into a highly attractive bait that slugs are unable to resist. The Metaldehyde exerts a reliable effect, quickly inhibiting any further feeding, thereby ensuring rapid and lasting protection of plants and crops from slug and snail damage. Blitzem incorporates the active constituent Metaldehyde at a concentration of 15g/Kg.

How It Works

Metaldehyde (15g/Kg) specifically attacks the membrane of the slug’s mucous cells, irreversibly damaging the cell components. The affected cells secrete all their mucous supplies and do not recover, even if adequate moisture is present. Metaldehyde is a crystalline powder that is broken down naturally into carbon dioxide and water. It does not leave any biological or chemical residues in the soil. Blitzem contains a bittering agent to help prevent animals from ingesting the pellets.

Directions for use

• Apply Blitzem pellets after sowing or planting, ideally in the evening
• Apply pellets uniformly and do not allow heaps to form
• Blitzem will provide approximately two weeks of snail and slug control, depending on the weather conditions
• Apply Blitzem immediately after rain, when snails and slugs are more likely to be active
• Application rate is 50g per square metre

Precautions

Blitzem is a schedule 6 chemical, and must be handled with CAUTION. Always keep Blitzem out of reach of children and away from pets. Blitzem can be fatal to dogs. Read safety instructions before opening or using.
