Yates Watering Can

Yates Watering Can

Yates Product of the Month for July 2010 is the new 8L Yates Watering Can. Designed and manufactured in Australia, this durable, lightweight watering can is made from recyclable plastic that’s been UV-stabilised to stand up to harsh Australian outdoor conditions.

Yates Watering Can features grooved, comfort-hold top and side handles that are easy to grip. The handles are strategically placed to allow balanced ease of lifting, carrying and pouring – even when the watering can is full.

Both the handle and the spout are detachable, which makes the Yates Watering Can easy to store and transport. The spout has more than 100 holes, which allows the water to fall in a soft, gentle spray that won’t dislodge seeds or young plants. For effective application over a broader area, gardeners can attach the made-to-fit Yates Sprinkle Bar that spreads the water across a horizontal band.

The large opening in the top of the watering can allows quick filling. And clear markings on the side make it simple to fill the watering can to the desired level.

For more than 120 years Yates has been producing goods and supplying information for Australian home gardeners. Yates is proud to have developed this watering can from the initial concept to full production, and is committed to continuing to produce it in Australia.

Yates Watering Can will be available in June 2010.

I bought one and it's really good. This watering can is two times better than any old watering can!

This looks a great product. I will look out for it when I go shopping. I like the design with the 2 handles which makes it much easier to hold and pour.

Ditto Marguerite's comment. I would like to see an extension to the spout (Detachable) SOmetimes putting a foot on the bed for extra reach can have disastrous results.

I like the idea of being able to change the attachment on the spout and the fact of more holes which delivers a softer gentle spray onto plants, love the colour as it is easy to see when put down in the garden, stands out from the green ones. Terrific idea.

Great idea to be able to fit alternate spout to direct water only where it is needed in a gentle spray on the plants and not on surrounding weeds and soil.

Im always buying new watering cans, if its not the sun its rust, now that you are producing a UV stabilised can, I'll give it a go. I also agree with Patricia for the extension and Yvette for the attachments

I have one arm so we are always looking for the perfect watering can! Most suit my husband but I like to be independent. I can't wait to try this one - I'll certainly give it a fair go.

I like the look of this watering can and agree that it is a great colour. Soft spraying is always the way to go, so I will definatley try it as my old watering can has almost seen better days. Don't need it today though, the heavens are tending to that.

Like the colour, will not get lost in the garden. Also if it is left out the front I will know my husband has borrowed it. Lke the idea of a gentle spray for seedlings. Will definitely have to buy one.

I am tired of plastic watering cans breaking down in the sunlight. This model sounds just what I need.

Love the idea of 'soft' water flow. Ideal for my just panted seeds and newly planted out seedlings.

We have two rainwater tanks and seven watering cans - some have heads which are too fast - some too slow and heavy to hold - some have fallen off. Always on the lookout for a GOOD watering can. A big plus for recyled material- two handles and free flowing soft spray!
